Blanca´s contribution
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hzrDeceEKcWONDERWALL-
WITHOUT ANY DOUBT, this is one of my favourite songs

OASIS
Today is gonna be the day
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
Backbeat the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt I don't believe that anybody feels
The way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would Like to say to you I don't know how
Because maybe You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all You're my wonderwall
Today was gonna be the day?
But they'll never throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you're not to do I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do About you now
And all the roads that lead to you were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
I don't know how I said maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all You're my wonderwall I said maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after an You're my wonderwall I Said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me

  2. In my opinion this song is about a difficult relationship of two people. For one of them is very difficult to reach the other because society put obstacles in his road but when they’ll achieve be together all their problems will be solved and it won’t matter the troubles. He or she, we don’t know the sex of the person, will be the one that saves him, in this case the singer of the song.

  3. I must agree with Blanca about the main topic of this song, but I also think there are some other possibilities. One of them is about fighting against society, which is trying make them behave just like everyone else, and doesn't let them do what they want.
However, it does look like a love song, and nearly averything in the song points this as the main subject.

  4. The text is about a man who is in love with someone and he can’t tell him or her because he doesn‘t know how to say it or he can‘t say it or he doesn’t dare to say that. I think the text speaks about the difficulty for people to express their feelings.

  5. According to the lyrics, I consider that the singer is trying to tell us his own love story, which is in trouble because of the social influence in his relationship (“the word is on the street”). At first, the singer seems pessimistic when he suggest that their relationship is being over (“and all the roads we have to walk are winding, and all the lights that lead us there are blinding”). Finally, however, he is optimistic because he says that the other person is his “wonderwall” and she –or he- is “gonna be the one who saves” him.

  8. The song takes its name from the 1968 album Wonderwall Music by George Harrison, at the time still a member of The Beatles.[4] Harrison's album was in fact a soundtrack to the film Wonderwall. The original title of the track was "Wishing Stone".[5]

It is often claimed that "Wonderwall" was written for Gallagher's then-girlfriend, Meg Mathews. Gallagher married Mathews in 1997, but the couple divorced four years later. Gallagher now claims that the song was not about Mathews at all, but he felt he had to go along with the rumour, saying "The meaning of that song was taken away from me by the media who jumped on it. How do you tell your Mrs it's not about her once she's read it is? It's a song about an imaginary friend who's gonna come and save you from yourself."[6]

In 2008 Liam Gallagher was quoted as saying about the song: "I can't fucking stand that fucking song! Every time I have to sing it I want to gag. Problem is, it was a big, big tune for us."[7] Noel has said that Liam, "...thought we had gone too dance when I wrote 'Wonderwall' because the drums didn't go boom-boom bap, boom-boom bap."

  9. Considered the best answer in a forum but yours are twice as good as this one:
"I basically think this song is about an unpredictable relationship. He loves her, and wants to be with her forever. However, there relationship has many twists and turns in it, and it will be painful, however he thinks its worth it"and all the roads we have to walk are winding, and all the lights to light the way are blinding." he doesn't know how to explain how he feels about her.

But at the same time, this song can be about someone saving him from his life and all the problems in it. Noel has mentioned that this song relates back to his childhood, as he had a depressing one. It was full of trauma, and he was often beaten by his father. The message in the opening line “Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you” suggests that he is reminded of his childhood, perhaps when he thought about his life and the problems he was facing at that time of his life.

In the line, “And all the roads we have to walk are winding, and all the lights that lead us there are blinding,” the winding roads indicates his life, and the blinding lights means that his life is confusing, and its hard to interpret what his future will be like. His wonderwall is the person who will help him through his life, which was his ex-wife Meg Mathews."
